2008 Hyundai i30 Preview – Geneva Auto Show: Built specifically for the European market and given a new naming convention, the Hyundai i30 hatchback goes on sale across the pond later this year and boasts three engines: two 1.6-liter four-cylinders making 113 and 120 horsepower, and a 2.0-liter engine that generates 141 horses. Transmission choices include a standard five-speed manual, a four-speed automatic and a six-speed auto in the two liter. The hatchback is also notable in that it brings with it a new naming convention. No longer will European Hyundais be known by name; starting now, Hyundais will get an alpha-numeric tag that starts with "i" for Inspiration, Intelligence and Integrity. The Hyundai i30 is built on the same platform as the new Kia Ex Ceed’, which was also debuted at the Geneva Auto Show.
