New Lufthansa commercial biofuel flights delayed by fuel certification issue
Lufthansa, one of the largest airlines in Europe, was forced to scheduled commercial flights due to fuel biofuels certification issues be postponed. Germany-based carrier was originally scheduled for a six-month process of biofuels kick, beginning in April, but the fuel is used, a 50/50 mix of vegetable oil and kerosene, has been approved by ASTM International.
Richard Altman, CEO of the Commercial Aviation Alternative Fuels Initiative, states that the ASTM certificate to come back soon, saying:
ASTM slightly in the remaining technical details. present purpose is to full board approval in the middle of the second quarter, and published early in the third quarter, assuming that the current results were obtained promises.
Eventually we hope to meet its international Lufthansa Airbus A321 aircraft engine aircraft equipped with bio and the first commercial airline with scheduled passenger aircraft powered by renewable fuels. Certification is the delay in introducing the man Lufthansa plans, but one that seems too early flawlessly.
